I joined the Phylodynamics lab in 2022 as a Bioinformatics PhD student. Before starting at NC State University, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics, Genomics, and Biotechnology and a minor in Molecular Biology from Brigham Young University in 2021.  My current research involves improving viral variant forecasting and applying reinforcement learning to learn how to optimize sampling in genomic epidemiology. In my free time I like to read, bake, and paddleboard.
