I graduated with a PhD in Plant Pathology from China Agricultural University, where my research was mainly focused on the spatial epidemiology of rice blast, including developing a model for rice blast forecasting. As a postdoc in the Phylodynamics Research Group, I plan to develop new recombination-aware phylogeographic and population genomic approaches. These methods will be used to track the spread of viral and fungal plant diseases through complex landscapes as part of a USDA NIFA supported project.
